OK, you remember all that I had a problem with my notebook, and I gave it to Tacker to fix it, but now he doesnt want to return it. I have have emailed hime numerous times, but he remains quiet. I deposited money to his account, even though we agreed to pay once the job is done, but noi words from him. I will soon have to go back to US and I have important documents on my notebook, which are necessary for my work. I even tried to go personally to the address which he gave me as his company address, but it turned out to be an apartment building, and some old lady lived at that address who told me (as far as I understand) that nobody other than her lives at her apartment. So I am asking russians and Ukrainians, whats the best way to get my notebook back.

Unfortunately, you have no chance to retern you wonderful notebook back.

BenQ, you was warned by members of our forum not to give your notebook to strangers... I think its very hard to return your notebook, or even impossible.

BenQ How could you give it to some someone whom you hardly know? If you looked at Tacker's registration date you would see, that he registred on the same day when you posted your question. And that was his ONLY post. Tacker got you fucked up pretty well. Its even possible, that the address he gave you was a drop site, so dont go there looking for tacker. Give us the address he gave you here, maybe more people will be able to help you. And police will not help, you, cuz he didnt steal it, you gave him your notebook willingly, so it will be considered your fault. A lot of people in Russia and Ukraine are dishonest, and you have to be carefull when dealing with strangers. Evem I am not an honest person. I've been ripping off some computer stores for quite a time, until I got caught, and I'm sure tacker will not stop on this, but you have very little chance of finding him. Think about it, and be careful next time.

Если он продаст ноут, то больше заработает, чем если просто починит. Да и чинить он не собирался, все ясно. Но теперь когда ноут на руках, починить и продать - прибыль на лицо. Затраты - на починку, прибыль - можно продать за 1.5К спокойно. вот в чем дело

I bet Tacker was very nice to you, and he's probably well educated. I'm not saying that all Ukrainians are bad, but their mind work different from American.

Anyways, I wish you luck (not a sarcasm) in getting back your laptop, and suggest that you start looking at new Centrino laptops from dell. (Those are awesome. got to love them)
